Information necessary to complete your child's registration:
TUITION
Tuition is due in advance prior to care being rendered. If tuition is not paid by Monday at 5:30pm, late charges will be assessed. A yearly registration fee is required.
HEALTH POLICY
By virtue of their age, children have a high susceptibility to communicable diseases and infections. To keep the children as healthy as possible, the Center has the following policies:
-Only prescription medication will be administered once a day at lunch. An authorization form must be filled out completely and initialed by the parent each day medication is to be given to a child.
-You will be notified to pick up your child when he/she shows signs of illness, such as:
-fever in excess of 100 axillary or tympanic.
-an upset stomach (vomiting or diarrhea).
-childhood communicable disease.
-rash of unexplained origin.
-signs of eye, ear or nose infections.
-a demand for constant one-on-one.
-The child may return when he/she:
has ceased vomiting or displaying other symptoms for 24 hours.
-is on a normal diet.
-or a medical clearance has been provided.
It is important to have an alternate child care plan for days your child is ill and unable to attend the center. Please inform us if your child is ill with a contagious disease. Parents whose children have been exposed to a contagious illness while at the center will be notified. When at the center children are expected to participate in the indoor and outdoor activities. It is better for the child to remain at home if he/she is not well enough to participate both indoors and outdoors.
MEALS
Wholesome, well balanced meals are provided at no additional charge. A menu designed to meet USDA nutritional requirements is posted on the bulletin board in the foyer and in each classroom. Please inform us if your child is on a special diet or is allergic to any foods. Allergies must be noted by a physician and will be posted in the child's classroom.
CLOTHING
Please send your child in comfortable play clothes. The children are involved in active play and messy activities. Even with an apron, paint gets on clothing. We want children to feel free to participate in all activities.
Shoes should be chosen which are safe for active play. Rubber-soled shoes are the safest for climbing and running. Open toe and thong type shoes are dangerous and not acceptable to wear at the center. An extra change of labeled clothes should be left at the Center for use in an emergency. Please label your child's jacket with their name as this will help in the event your child's jacket is picked up by another child.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Parents are an integral part of the Centers total program. Your participation can be helpful in many ways, such as:
-Being a member of the Parent Advisory Council.
-Volunteering your time, talents and skills.
-Sharing your family customs, traditions and food recipes
-Being actively involved in special activities and functions.
-Attending conferences concerning your child's development.
BEHAVIOR POLICY
A child-centered guidance philosophy addresses the developmental needs and abilities of young children. There is an emphasis on learning to problem solve, cooperate, accept responsibility, and communicate with each other. Basic to the problem solving philosophy is the concept of freedom with responsibility. Every child will be respected as an individual and treated with kindness and firmness. Staff respond to the children with warmth and understanding, rather than criticism, repression and punishment. Possible guidance techniques used by the staff consist of, but are not limited to the following:
-talking to the child.
-recognizing and praising appropriate behavior.
-offering choices.
-redirecting children to a safe object or area of the room.
-removing children from stressful situations.
-encouraging conflict resolution.
No form of negative guidance such as spanking, frightening, verbal abuse, humiliation, or binding will be tolerated.
TOURS
We give tours for our program by appointment only for security reasons. We do not allow drop-in visits until after your initial tour.
TERMINATION OF ENROLLMENT
The Centers program is designed to be a positive experience for children. Occasionally, the program may not be appropriate for a child's continued enrollment. Termination may result if the program does not meet the needs of the child or the expectations of the parent, or if the child manifests repeatedly disruptive or inappropriate behavior. A parent may terminate their child's enrollment according to terms of their contract. Service may also be terminated due to lack of fee payment. The Center reserves the right to refuse service.
