Curriculum
The Program
Research on early brain development underscores the need to focus on the early years to improve childrens self-concept/emotional, social, language, physical, and cognitive development. The ages between birth and five are critical to child development. Wetumpka Preschool follows the Alabama Early Learning Guidelines that embraces all ages with appropriate consideration for unique characteristics of development at each age. Children must receive appropriate nurturing and education within and outside their families from birth onward if they are to develop optimally. A copy of the guidelines can be found at http://dhr.alabama.gov/large_docs/aelg.pdf.
Gateway Child Development Group, LLC utilizes curriculum materials from the HighReach Learning Curriculum, the Creative Curriculum and Houghton Mifflin Literacy and Math for the state funded pre-K.
